Room 114

This lovely ground floor room (18' by 20'), located on your left as you step into the Carriage House foyer, has a rose and buttery yellow decor. It has a romantic queen sized canopy bed facing the working fireplace, two inviting easy chairs and a writing desk waiting for you to do up those postcards. The private bath with hardwood floors has two separate vanity sink areas, a single necessaire, a 2-person whirlpool tub set under an oil painting of a schooner at high seas just off the coast. Or indulge yourself in the separate marble tiled shower with multiple shower heads - rainfall, massage and handheld. A truly romantic room that has inspired several engagements and celebrated more than its share of anniversary celebrations. There is a raised deck with table, umbrellas and chairs in the private common courtyard outside the entrance to this room. Can accommodate a single cot with one extra person.

The Carriage House rooms are all on the first floor of the original carriage house which was built at the same time as the "summer cottage," circa 1903. It housed Mr. Maitland's horses, carriages, and some of his servants. In fact, there was a double tree-lined path leading down to the Mansion that allowed the house servants to enter and exit by the back staircase, so as not to be in view. Nowadays, the Carriage House features four guest rooms with the utmost privacy, keeping the same elegant decor as the Main Mansion. The Carriage House is about 50 yards up the drive and does not afford any views of the ocean, but has the ultimate feeling of privacy. Rooms 110, 111, and 114 share a large enclosed yard leading to a common foyer on the right, while room 112 offers the ultimate privacy set off by itself on the left of the carriage house.

All guest rooms feature Select Comfort Sleep Beds with pillow topped mattresses and hypoallergenic feather and down tics to sink into. These top quality beds allow you to adjust the mattress for comfort on both sides for personal preference. As well the finest 500 thread count linens with hypoallergenic feather and down duvets and pillows are provided. You’ll feel like you are sleeping on a cloud. In addition all rooms and suites have private baths, individually controlled heating and air conditioning, flat screen televisions with DVD player, and WIFI access.

Your stay includes a full complimentary buffet breakfast, refreshments and cookies in the afternoon, and our most social cocktail hour in the evenings with assorted snacks in the Veranda Bar. Guests also enjoy our extensive DVD selection, complimentary onsite parking, the small fitness room, our sundeck with fire-pit, and heated in-ground swimming pool overlooking the ocean.
